Little Ballerinas
These little ballerinas were painted for the loose watercolour challenge on PMP which is run by the lovely Judith Farnworth. Judith had been a great support to me since I started painting and I've learned a lot from her over the last couple of years. For this particular challenge I painted the first, more detailed version first followed by the more impressionistic, looser version - although the background I kept loose in both versions - but which do you prefer?

I like them both, Sharon, but I really love the looser one!
ReplyDeleteAw thank you so much Sharon for your lovely kind words.... the talent was always there and am sure you would have got where you are with or without help, you are a dedicated, beautiful painter and artist and I hope you get wherever you want to go with your work, it will be very well deserved!!
ReplyDeleteI do prefer the loose one, but you probably knew that anyway!!
Even though I like both too, I am drawn to the second not because of the loose style, but because of the dramatic color. I'm a sucker for color!!
ReplyDeleteYours,
Nanina
Both are lovely Sharon, if they were not together one would not have to choose but just adore each as they are. I think I would choose the second one but if it was not there I would love the first - hope this makes sense
ReplyDeleteYour people paintings whether portrait or otherwise are so lovely and sensitively painted. These are no exception. Oh and the loose one just pips the more detailed.
ReplyDeleteI really love both versions! If I had to choose a favorite I think it would be the second one.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the looser one! It appears more vibrant, energetic which is what a little ballerina would be. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, both of them!
ReplyDeleteI've a bit of catching up to do on your blog as when I changed over from pointypix to nicsearth I lost my blog roll and am bit by bit trying to remember who I used to follow! Anyway, these are both lovely but I prefer the second looser one-I love the looser style.
ReplyDeleteI really like the loose one the most but they are both beautifully rendered. Lovely, sensitive work.
ReplyDeleteBoth are very beautyful. My favourite is the loose one.
