Day 4 - Hedgehog
My painting for Day 4 is another little favourite of our British wildlife, the hedgehog - anyone get these little characters in their garden at night? I haven't that I know of as yet. As with much of our wildlife in Britain, there is evidence of a declining population of hedgehogs. You can find out more about one of our favourite native species on the British Hedgehog Preservation Society website .
Take a look at what the other participating artists on the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge have been doing HERE.

Cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon,
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I'm glad I don't have these little guys in my garden. We do have ground hogs - fatter lazier and not quite as cute.
You asked how I arrange my paintings in a grid- I used photoshop and re-sized each image. I have heard that Leslie will show us an easy way to do it as we near the end of the 30 days.
I haven't figured out whether I should comment in a reply after your comment to me or go to your blog so I did both!
Hi Sharon Great painting and very realistic. No I don't think I have Hedgehogs in my garden
ReplyDeleteLove this, Sharon - how ling did it take you to do the spikes? Great job they look so realistic. I have not seen them here in the USA but I remember them from growing up in Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
ReplyDeleteSharon....We have hedgehog visit our garden every night for a few weeks now, we sometimes see it/them before we go to bed, one night we had an obvious family with a large one and three smaller ones. I can't tell you how pleased we all are about this.
ReplyDeleteIt goes without saying you painting is BRILLIANT of this delightful little creature.
Super painting, Sharon! :) We used to have frequents visits from Hedgehogs in our last house but not so much in this one.
ReplyDeleteYour little hedgehog is precious. Love your blog and that you are walker, too. Now I'm going to noodle around the rest of your site.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I told my husband the other day that if I return as an animal, I want to return as a hedgehog, although we don't have them here - which means I'll have to come back in the UK :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughters favorite animal is the hedgehog, you captured him beautifully. Love all your animal paintings!
