Skomer Puffin
©Sharon Whitley the Rambling Artist
Not been painting as much recently but did this puffin the other night, it's from one of Gary's photos and my facebook challenge this month is to paint him - so had to have a go myself - there have been some brilliant paintings entered, pop over and take a look if you're on facebook, the link is on the side bar!
We're off to Skomer Island again on Saturday as the puffin chicks have now hatched and there will be loads of opportunities to get photos of puffins carrying a humungous number of fish in their mouths - amazing how they do that!!! Tomorrow we'll be visiting the Dyfi Osprey Project and will finally hopefully get to see Monty for real! And then on Sunday I'll be visiting Clwyd Theatr Cymru where two of my black headed gull paintings have been selected for the North Wales Open Art Exhibition - this runs from 22 June to 30 August - I'm chuffed to bits!!
So what are you up to at the weekend?
The Puffin is another of your paintings with the 'WOW' factor. I hope you enjoy Skomer this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBy the way....Good to see you back again Sharon.
Hi Sharon great painting of a Puffin. You are so fortunate to be going to Skomer this weekend. I will be interested on how you get on and what you see. Did you see the Puffins on my post on Wednesday? You may getinspiration from some of the shots. Margaret

ReplyDeleteHe is a cutie, Sharon. You have done a lovely job.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have a wonderful weekend
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the show - and on this gorgeous version of the puffin. There is something so cute and funny about these birds, even more so than penguins. You've done a great job on the white that isn't white and still shows his or her belly and roundness. Will come back to see more photos later :) Have a fantastic trip!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on this little bird.!!!! And I LOVE your two paintings that were selected for the show! The black headed gulls are fantastic...I love them both!!! I wish I can go to the show...Best of luck, Sharon!!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love it, not just captured the bird, but also the character.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully painted and what a cute bird he is!
ReplyDeleteYour puffin is gorgeous. We saw them for the first time a couple of weeks ago and they really are the sweetest birds. Congrats on your gull paintings-I love your watercolour style.
